The Anathema

The Lund Gift Charter

If anyone—whether powerful or humble, noble or common, freeborn or unfree—filled with stubborn arrogance should seek to violate this decree established for the sake of holy religion, let him be anathema at the coming of the Lord.

Let him be condemned to eternal punishment, where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.

Let his table become a snare before him, a recompense, and a stumbling block.

Let him share the fate of those who said to the Lord God: “Depart from us; we have no desire to know your ways.”
